Songs by James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone,
Otis Redding, Ray Charles and many more have all featured in our sets.

Do you have any demo recordings of a live performance?

Please see our Reviews page for some of the responses we've had from event organisers and the media.

What does it cost to hire DFO?
Email us for a quote.

Factors affecting cost include:

  • The nature of the event (we won't charge anything for charity events or other selected events).
  • Whether refreshments or food will be provided for the band.
  • What equipment we will need to transport.
  • Whether technical assistance will be required.

When is DFO available?
We are only available to perform during Oxford University's term times, as this is the only time the student band members are all in Oxford.

How long can DFO play for?
We can currently play sets up to 1 hour in length (not including time needed to set up). We recommend a typical playing time of 30-60 minutes.

Where can DFO travel to?
We can usually only travel to events within Oxford. However, with plenty of advance notice we may travel further afield.

Can DFO provide the equipment?
Except for intimate events like smaller charity gigs, we can not provide full PA equipment - this must be provided by event organisers. The band is able to transport all instruments and guitar amplifiers it requires, except for a drum kit. We can not provide any lighting of any sort. We can, however, refer event organisers to a number of event engineering companies (unaffiliated with DFO) who may be able to set up PA systems and lighting for competitive prices.
